I was wondering if there was an option to randomly play albums based on year? For instance, I'd love to hear a random play of tracks that came out this year. The closest option I found was a setting for Random play by genre. Years doesn't appear to be an option. Is it somehow possible, or atleast something that could be added to a future release?

Thanks.

It can be added fairly easilly. Look for it in a future release.

Great! On a separate note, I'm having a weird problem when i filter by year. In this view, some albums are showing up multiple times. But if I just look at the standard unfiltered view, these albums only appear once. Is it possible that when I did a library update, it added multiple entries to the years database?

It is possible that albums were duplicated in the year cvr file when you did an update. It is something i will need to look at. If the same album is appearing under different year then it might be the tags are different for each track.

It's the same album appearing multiple times under the same year. It happens on every year.

Just a thought.  Try deleting the years subfolder, then rebuilding the library.  Some of the older builds didn't work properly on building years, and kept adding them every time you added or built the library.  You can open one of the years files in notepad and see the albums listed multiple times.

After deleting the years folder and rebuilding the database, everything is back in order. But I believe my last problem didn't occur until I did an update. I haven't done that yet, but will keep you posted on the results. Hopefully it was just a fluke, or some error on my part.

Yeah I was going to suggest that. I don't have any issues with years
