Hello guys I have a problem thats been driving me crazy.  I NEED HELP!! >:(
I have been doing alot of cleaning up on my music db and I noticed that everytime I run config my modified date where changed and consequently  'new' label wouldn't work correctly(all albums will be marked new).  After a couple of hours I relized I was make a very stupid mistake  :tommy, I had check rename first cover found ofcourse it change the modified date.  Fine, I went to bed thinking I finnaly found why where my dates changing but the next day I added more albums to my db and the new label showed up again for all albums.  My question are:
I generate libary everytime I add albums, is this right?
Am I supposed to generate thumbnails everytime?
Any ideas what of what am I doing wrong?

Works fine for me.  I have it generate each time, but make sure to click CLEAR on all three libraries (and GENERATE, of course).  I also click on USE MODIFIED DATE FOR ADDED DATE.  I click on GENERATE IMAGE THUMBNAILS, and DO NOT OVERWRITE THUMBNAILS (This one is important.  Overwriting thumbnails will change the folder modified date, and will mark it as new again.)

I NEVER use UPDATE LIBRARY.  As for yours showing all new, if you change anything in a directory, it updates the folder modified date.  Fixing tags, new cover art, new thumbnail, etc.  Once you change the folder modified date, you will have to wait the lenght of time it takes for new not to show again.  I went in and cleaned up the tags in about 50 ablums the other day, and they all showed up as new again.  No big deal, it helps me to remember which ones I fixed.

Sound like the last time you Used the COPY & RENAME FIRST COVER FOUND function, it changed the folder modified date, and now you will have those folders marked as new for however long you have the new time period set.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!  I never checked do not overwrite thumbnails I'll try that. :beer

Modified date doesn't work right for US dates. If you set your regional settings in the windows control panel to UK date/time format, it will work fine.

Thanks guys modified date are now working perfectly for me.  I changed region setting and also checked do not overwrite thumbnails that did it.  Thanks :beer
